Lex Fest

This past year, the General Activities Board revived a storied W&L tradition of bringing up-and-coming bands to perform in a spring concert for the entire school and dubbed it Lex Fest. The inaugural Lex Fest included 49 Winchester, just weeks before their performance at Red Rocks, FutureBirds, a band well versed at W&L, and Boy Named Banjo. Click here to learn more about Lex Fest.
Waka Flocka Flame

Washington and Lee’s General Activities Board was able to bring a hip-hop legend to our quaint home of Lexington. Waka Flocka Flame payed us a visit in March of 2024 for W&L’s annual Winter Concert. Waka Flocka brought the energy and excitement with a fiery yet intimate show. Waka Flocka even enjoyed his time after the show exploring the many lively nighttime scenes of W&L’s student life.
Battle of the Bands

GAB has created Battle of the Bands which highlights student run bands and creates a fun and competitive social event for the entire W&L student body. In 2023, the winning band, Meat Puzzle, was given the opportunity to open for Waka Flocka Flame at our winter concert. With fun music and a lively atmosphere, Battle of the Bands is a fan favorite each year.
Sean Kingston

In the Winter of 2023, W&L’s General Activities Board was able to bring the pop star, Sean Kingston, to campus. The Beautiful Girls and Fire Burning singer preformed at our annual Fancy Dress Kickoff concert. Sean Kingston brought the 2000s nostalgia and energy to the crowd and no one could stop singing. His 2023 concert is one of the favorites, with students still remembering his frequent “Kingston, Kingston, Kingston,” throughout the concert.
