LEX FEST
A W&L Tradition
A revived W&L tradition, Lex Fest features 2-3 up-and-coming country or rock artists for an evening of music, food, and fun
The free-for-attendance event unites the W&L student body and alumni, regardless of their background or music taste, through the common interest of celebrating the community we are so lucky to all share
With a sold out show the first year, Lex Fest created a core memory for 1,700 guests, including students, parents, professors, and alumni
Lex Fest 2025
After the success of last year’s spring term festival, GAB aims to bring even more energy to our second annual Lex Fest. 49 Winchester, Boy named Banjo and Futurebirds set the standard for the event – bringing a wide range of students together to create core college memories. The free-entry festival brought 1,700 students, parents, teachers and members of the surrounding community together at Lime Kiln, an outdoor amphitheater within the heart of Lexington, Virginia. This year, Lex Fest features three new artists – Marcus King, Colby Acuff, and The Wilson Springs Hotel. Carefully selected by the members of GAB, we expect our 2nd annual Lex Fest to perform even bigger and better. A special thanks to our sponsors, The Southmayd Center for American Ideals and Lime Kiln, for helping us pull off this even larger musical feat.
We are back. Lex Fest Part II. May 2nd, 2025. Lime Kiln. Doors at 5pm.
Note: Each student gets up to two tickets. If you wish to reserve more than two, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Lex Fest FAQs
How do I get a ticket?
We will be tabling toward the end of the semester with wristbands, much like the ones Fancy Dress had. To get into the venue, you have to have your wristband. We want to make sure we don’t give them out prematurely so people do not lose them.
When can I get a ticket?
We will be tabling April 28th and 29th. We will have a table for people who already have tickets reserved and a table for those who do not. We will announce tabling on the GAB Insta and email.
What if I bought a VIP ticket already?
Unless you were contacted about the raffle, any purchase towards the VIP raffle only secured you a regular ticket. You benefited by being able to skip the line, but we are sorry you didn’t win.
How many tickets are available?
We started with 1500, but we had around 300 reserved with our “skip the line” promotion we ran for various fundraisers.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are free! However, we always appreciate a donation, as it goes toward Lex Fest next year.
How many tickets can I get?
Every student can reserve 2 tickets, for whoever they want (friend, SO, parents, etc). To reserve more, they must submit a formal request through a link on the GAB website.
Can I bring a friend from out of town?
Yes! All tickets must be reserved under a W&L ID/email, but students and faculty can reserve tickets for guests, including those out of town.
How do I get there?
We will have traveller running from third year and senior houses, starting at 4:30 pm. We will also provide a walking route from third year.
Can I drink there?
No! There is absolutely no drinking in the event, and all large bags will be checked for any alcoholic beverages on the way into the venue by Lime Kiln security.
Is there food there?
Yes! We get local food trucks to come sponsor the event, so there will be pizza, barbecue, and more!
